Details of Temple: Unlike other Shiva temples in the North Karnataka region, the Chandramouleshwara Temple has four doors in as many directions besides two big Shivalingas. The temple has sculpted walls and pillars of black granite stones. Images of dancing Lord Ganesha and jaalandhra at Chandramouleshwara Temple are a visual delight. The architectural style that developed in this part is known as the Chalukya style. The temples were built by teams of architects, artists, sculptors and masons, who remain anonymous. The presence of two 12th-century stone inscriptions in Unkal village show that the temple belongs to 11th or 12th century

By Air

Hubballi Airport is a domestic airport serving the twin cities of Hubli and Dharwad. It is 20km away from dharwad and also nearer to the Bypass high way NH4. Other one is Sambre Airport at Belgaum, which is approximately 78km from Dharwad.

By Train

Hubli railway station is more nearest railway station, though u can find unkal railway station in maps or routes, there is limted train stops or you can say almost nill. So from hubli railway station Unkal is approximately 7km distance and there is facility of buses and auto from hubli railway station.

By Road

Hubli Old bus stand is the nearest Bus Terminus, from there unkal is 5km distance and many buses run in between Hubli and Dharwad have stop at unkal. From unkal bust stop should take a 1km walk or can also find sainagar bus from bus stand which passes very near by to temple.
